Many imposing houses that testify that Greiz had better times and was very prosperous. It's still nice here, but unfortunately there isn't much going on here.

The city is located in the valley of the White Elster in the Thuringian Vogtland. Due to its charming location in a valley basin and its numerous historical buildings, it is nicknamed the "Pearl of the Vogtland". Greiz was the residence of the Principality of Reuss, elder line, which existed as an independent federal state in the German Empire until 1918 and was ruled by the House of Reuss. From 1922 to 1950, Greiz was an independent city in the state of Thuringia.
