At Suðurfläs by Breið, on the landward side of the old lighthouse, a work is made of stainless steel and made in memory of the Hafmejar accident that happened in 1905, right outside the lighthouse. Bjarni Þór is also the co-author of the sculpture Skvísurnarn at Skólabraut together with Guðna Hannessyn in Lykkja, but the work is located between their houses. At Elínarhöfði is the work Tálbeita by Bjarna Þór Bjarnason, but it was built in 2000 in connection with Reykjavík, which was then the European City of Culture.

Vandring
Memorial commemorating the 11 people from Akranes, aged between 20 and 30, who died in the "Hafmeyjarslysið" (Mermaid Disaster) on September 14, 1905, when the six-person boat Hafmeyjan wrecked en route from Reykjavík to Akranes. The exact cause of this tragic accident is largely unknown, but it is likely that the boat's overloading played a role.
