Built at the turn of the century
As a result of the rapid population growth, a new church in neo-Gothic style was built between 1898 and 1903 for the newly created suburbs of Oststadt and Schwetzingerstadt according to the plans of building inspector Ludwig Maier and under the construction management of the Mannheim architect Josef Kuld. The Holy Spirit Church was consecrated on March 15, 1903 by the Freiburg Archbishop Thomas Nörber.
