Vandring
The West Voe of Sumburgh is a crescent of white sand around turquoise water, backed by steep dunes anchored by marram grass. It’s spectacular, and well worth a walk or a picnic stop if the weather is co-operating. The nearby airport offers helicopter and plane spotting opportunities, and the beach is frequently the backdrop for stunning sunsets.

Near to the southern tip and between the airport and the settlement of Sumburgh, this windswept crescent moon of silky white sand is a true delight.
