Following on from the Baak near Balloo (Dr) along the Pieterpad (Arie Fonk, 2013), there is now a Baak here as well.
This beacon, a kind of megalithic gate, symbolizes a beacon for ship traffic.
De Baak in Balloo is aimed at pedestrian traffic. In ancient times (Celts) boulders were used as signposts. There is a theory that these boulders had a specific shape.

Vandring
Abel Tasman, the explorer who discovered Tasmania and New Zealand, was born in Lutjegast. The Abel Tasmanpad is a discovery trail through the nature around Lutjegast. The route goes through drassing area and over footpaths. A real adventure, there is even a rope bridge! During this walk you will pass this work of art.
