The newly designed village square in the center of the village with adjoining toilets and the hall of the village barn is a popular meeting point for the village community and is a really great success.
The home association organizes various events here. Whether it's Walpurgis Night or the Christmas market, the festivals that take place here enliven village life,
a great thing.
The Backhausfest takes place here every Ascension Day weekend.

The Heimatverein Schackendorf currently has 40 members and was founded in 2000. He has made it his task to promote local customs and culture, says club chairman Antje Deckert. The members also try to preserve Franconian dance and culture. The association has a stock of old costumes, some of which were also worn by the young people at the dances. In general, you can rent traditional costumes free of charge, reveals Antje Deckert.
