Vandring
Motherwell - close to Glasgow and Edinburgh - was Schweinfurt's first twin town. The partnership came about as early as 1962. Now Motherwell has been incorporated into the North Lanarkshire district. Town twinning associations continue the connection and the park, named after Motherwell, also stands for this.

Vandring
The Fichtelsgarten is followed by the Motherwellpark, dedicated to the Scottish twin town. You can linger between flowers and sculptures by a lake and follow historical paths to the former ramparts (Philosophengang).
The green area around the Philosophengang represents the northernmost section of the green connection along the eastern city fortifications to the south to the Main.
