This fortress is a magnificent, well-preserved example of the fifteenth-century residential castles found in the province of Toledo. Currently inhabited, we can tour its exterior, appreciating the aesthetic result of the influences of Italian art in its architecture.

This type of residential castle is very characteristic of the province of Toledo. This one in particular dates from the 15th century and is currently still inhabited, so we can only visit its exterior.
Built by the then Count of Fuensalida, it was founded on an old Muslim fortress and after several centuries it has withstood wars, sieges, fires until it was rehabilitated after the Carlist wars.
