The building was ordered to be built by D. Sebastián de Huerta, Secretary General of the Inquisition and a native of the Guard.
An outstanding element of the building is the 18th century Baroque façade that maintains some Mannerist aftertaste. It is made of stone and is preserved in good condition.

The Casa de los Jaenes Ethnological Museum is located in La Guardia (Toledo), inside a historic 18th-century building known as the House of the Inquisition or the House of Don Eulogio.
Construction: Commissioned by Sebastián de Huerta, Secretary General of the Inquisition, in the 18th century.
Style: Baroque with Mannerist details.

Monumental stone doorway with two levels and the Jaenes coat of arms.
Columned courtyard with Tuscan columns and wooden walkways.
Declared a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC) in 1991.

Also known as the "house of the Inquisition", this museum has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest for its great architectural and historical value, strongly linked to that period of Spanish history. The construction belonged to the Jaenes family and was built at the end of the 18th century. With a baroque-style façade, its interior patio with a square floor plan and opening to the sky, very characteristic of that time and this type of construction, also stands out.
