Those who, leaving the city circuit of the main streets, visit the ancient districts find themselves immersed in a tortuous tangle of streets, alleys, courtyards, which in the past were the privileged places of village social life. Then the earthquake of 1968, emigration and the rise of the new residential district of the Sasi district depopulated these places, and with the abandonment a slow degradation took over. For some years many suggestive corners of the historic center of Calatafimi have been removed from decay, restructured and destined to illustrate its history and traditions.

A stroll through the center of Mazara del Vallo offers you a charming mix of history and Mediterranean flair. The old town, characterized by narrow streets and historic buildings such as the Chiesa Madre San Silvestro Papa and the Museo Civico Archeologico, exudes a warm atmosphere that is underlined by the characteristic Sicilian architecture.

The Itinerario dei Vicoli is beautiful - a tour through the small, shady alleys, perfect for discovering the city in a leisurely way. The walk through the small streets is a wonderful experience, especially in the evening, when the lights bathe the streets in warm light.
