While the DB station building is in a very sad condition, the Bohltaler Eisenbahn station, which is located slightly higher up and is the starting point for the Vulkan Express trains, is in very good condition. The small building there with its open-air counter is reminiscent of the time of the economic miracle.

Vandring

The Vulkanexpress of the single-track, meter-gauge Brohltal narrow-gauge railway also steams from Brohl station on a 17.75-meter-long route with the route number DB 9302.
At Thönnisstein it travels over the viaduct and at the Trasshöhlen through the railway tunnel.
The narrow-gauge railways have to overcome 400 meters in altitude between the Rhine and the Eifel. The railway commutes between Brohl am Rhein and Engeln in the Eifel.
The diesel locomotive D5 left at 9.30 a.m. The steam locomotive 11SM (heavy mallet) was fired with Ruhr fire for the 2.15 p.m. journey.
