The Liliental near Ihringen was bought by the state forest administration in 1957 in order to set up a test site for plant cultivation and an arboretum (collection of rare trees) there at the same time.
In the meantime, the Liliental is rich in tall trees that are otherwise not so easy to see.
Of particular interest are the sequoia trees planted in 1960, which thrive very well in Liliental, and the multitude of orchid species that feel at home here.
