Vandring
The Animas City Mountain is a popular destination just north of Downtown Durango. Around five miles of hiking trails offer stunning views over the Durango area and the Hermosa, Falls Creek and Animas Valleys. You can take a stroll here on a nice Sunday or just hike after work. The highest point is at 8,169 feet. The upper part of the mountain might be closed during elk calving season.

Løb
You climb around 1500 feet over 3 miles to the summit from the trailhead. The peak sticks out above the trees, and you get fantastic views over Durango and the snake-like Animas River. Doing the trail clockwise gets the steeper portion out of the way first and leaves you a slightly easier descent.
