Ledesma still preserves a large part of the granite stone wall that has historically surrounded the Villa in its entirety. Most of what remains today was built in the time of Fernando II de León, in the 12th century, although it was in the 15th century when several canvases with well-carved masonry were renovated.

Declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 1949, the ruins of the castle "La Fortaleza" are worth a visit.
Historically, the wall surrounded the entire town and what is still standing was built in the 12th century under the command of Fernando II de León.
