Johann Welfflin, born in Pomuk in 1340 (hence "von Pomuk" = Nepomuk) worked as an eloquent preacher to the Archbishop of Prague and aroused the king's anger at the time. In 1393 Nepomuk was tortured on the king's orders and thrown from Charles Bridge into the Vltava. According to legend, the corpse rose from the water surrounded by shining stars.

Bridge figure on the Charles Bridge, which causes many tourists to touch it, which is said to bring good luck.
In practice, it looks like the dog on the left and the torso and skirt of a woman on the other hand are caressed sparkling clean. A long line forms in front of the relief by the afternoon.

The tourist ❤️ of Prague. It's always busy there. Lots of artists and loafers make this bridge lively. Urban legend says that you have to touch the figure of Nepomucene and a dog to get back to Prague.
