From the origins of Holsteiner horse breeding:
The name Rosengarten (-Rossgarten?) came about around 800 years ago when Holsteiner horse breeding began in the Uetersen monastery.
The lands belonged to the monastery district and were used, among other things, for keeping horses. The early recognition of the importance of state-owned horse breeding for political and military purposes meant that stud farms were heavily promoted. (...)

Neuendeich's building block in the European Natura 2000 network:
In order to ensure that wild animals and plants continue to have a place in our community, an ecological network of their natural habitats has been created in all member states of the European Union. This protected area and biotope network system heals "Natura 2000" and includes special habitats and selected species, some of which are rare. Almost the entire course of the Pinnau with the foreland between the dykes also belongs to this network. (...)
