The dune path dates back to the first half of the 1970s. It is constantly changing and must therefore be constantly cleared. This is handled here like snow is handled elsewhere: A wheel loader pushes the sand aside. But he always comes back. It's more exciting: when a suction dredger dredges the fairway to Stralsund, it distributes the sand - clearly visible from the beach - in front of Hiddensee West. Just the sand that clogs the dune path. Therefore: quite good for promenades; for the bike in the season rather not so.
