Ferrol is a city traditionally oriented towards maritime activities, through its fishing and commercial port, civil and military shipyards, Navy facilities or tourist beaches. With a population of 64,785 inhabitants, it is the third most populous municipality in the province of La Coruña and the seventh in Galicia. The metropolitan area of Ferrol, known as Ferrolterra, brings together the regions of Ferrol, Eume and Ortegal, with a population of around 150,000 inhabitants.
