Next to the aquarium is this octopus-like structure made of white steel, which is said to be based on the shape of ancient hand cranes. There is even a panoramic elevator. I haven't used it, but it looks monumental enough as it is.

A work by Renzo Piano is the panoramic elevator Bigo, a 40m high eight-armed construction that looks like a giant spider and which not only pulls up the round observation gondola, but also supports the roof of the adjacent Piazza delle Feste.
