This massive church from the 14th and 15th century was a place of pilgrimage until the wars of religion. Only the crossing, a remnant of an 11th-century church, is older. On the back wall hangs a list (chiseled in 1862) of the 315 brothers-in-arms who accompanied William on his campaign to England.
The graceful nave (15th century) contrasts with the heavy pillars and tight arches of the Romanesque crossing. The transept, the choir and the beautiful Lady Chapel are High Gothic and date from the 14th century.
