It is part of the Biesenthal-Wandlitz-Prenden lake district, which includes around 30 large and small lakes. This water landscape was created during the Weichselian Ice Age and is only around 170 metres wide, but almost 13 times as long.
As the lake is privately owned, you should use the few small free spaces you can find, as most of it is fenced off and inaccessible.
