Vandring

"Strenuous ascent" is right. Good shoes are a must, and trekking poles would be very helpful - I didn't bring any and I swiftly regretted it. The way up is tough on the muscles, the way down is brutal on the joints. I could hear my knees creaking by the time I reached the bottom. It's definitely worth it to see the Shrecksee at the top, but this is not the kind of climb I'd recommend taking on without some serious footwear and an even more serious pair of thighs.

You should bring a bit of fitness and sure-footedness with you if you want to climb to the Schrecksee. You should also have the right footwear with you. I was a little surprised that some people try to climb in sandals, trainers or sneakers 😀. At the latest on the way back, it will certainly be slippery and painful
