Landevejscykling

The small town in South Bohemia is a nice stopover on a bike tour through the Czech Republic. There is a beautiful city center and a view of the historic moated castle at the mouth of the Volynka in the Otava is also worthwhile. And of course, such a city has a very practical use: there are enough shops, cafes and restaurants to strengthen. Incidentally, Strakonice also has bicycle history: Here there was a sprint score in the context of the International Peace Race.

The Strakonice settlement is originally one of the gold panning sites from the Celtic period in southern Bohemia. It was built around a moated castle at the confluence of the Volyňka and the Otava.
