The Neuenkirchen hall church stands on an elliptical plot of land surrounded by red brick.

Construction of the church began at the end of the 13th century and was completed in 1694 with the construction of the upper floor of the west tower with a pyramid roof.

Cykling

The parish church of Neuenkirchen was built under the patronage of the Eldena monastery. Worth mentioning are the gravestones of Jacobus Volquin (1378), Hermann von Wampen (1383) and Petrus Warschow (fragment, 1402). Remains of the medieval wall and vault painting with Low German minuscule inscriptions were uncovered during the renovation in 1968. The grave of the Swedish poet Thomas Thorild (1759-1808) is located in the cemetery around the church.
