It consists of authentic Småland primeval forest.
The forest hasn't been cleared for 150 years, and some of the pines are 350 years old. Fallen trees, huge moss-covered boulders, and magical forest lakes
await you here. A hike to the highest mountain
in the national park will be rewarded with a brilliant view.
Untouched forests are very rare in southern Sweden.
It's a good thing that the first part of the national park was established in 1927.
At that time, it covered 27 hectares.
