Located at the top of Cerro de Sopeña, this site was the center of power of Alto Palancia for more than 1000 years. History tells that Iberians, Romans, Visigoths, Arabs, kings and nobles inhabited this strategic enclave at different times, defending themselves within its thick walls and watchtowers that bear little resemblance to what is seen today.

The Castillo de la Estrella, also known as the Castillo de Sopeña, is located in Segorbe, in the province of Castellón, Valencian Community. This castle stands on one of the hills that dominate the city and is part of a historical complex that includes walls and an aqueduct.
