Downhill mountainbiking

The town hall was originally built as a department store in 1529 under the rule of the Counts of Eppstein. In 1900, the gable end of the centrally located building had to be renovated. This resulted in a half-timbered porch, giving it its present appearance. When the historic town hall finally became too small for the increasingly extensive administration in 1974 and a modern new building became necessary, the city completely renovated the dominant building. Today, the "Old Town Hall Café" is located here.

The building was erected in 1529 under the rule of the Counts of Eppstein as the town hall of Hofheim. The ground floor originally also served as a market hall and courthouse. During the witch trials in Hofheim, interrogations took place here from 1595 to 1603. After a renovation around 1710, the ground floor was used for various municipal purposes, including as a police station, detention center, weights and measures office, and storage for the fire brigade, hearse, and stretcher. The mayor's offices, the registry office, and the meeting room for the town council were located on the upper floor.
