Archduchess Magdalena of Austria was the founder of the royal women's monastery in Hall and the founder of the Partisan Guard. The niece of Emperor Charles V and sister of the Tyrolean sovereign Archduke Ferdinand II, was very keen to re-establish the Catholic Church in Hall.
