    Sandridge is a gloriously picturesque village between Wheathampstead and St Albans. It's right next to Heartwood Forest, a newly planted woodland that's set to sprawl across a 860-acre (347 ha) site.

    Once you've enjoyed a stroll in the woods, there are plenty of places to unwind in the village. It's home to a trio of good pubs, as well as a charming cafe.
