The green elliptical tower, designed by Rob van Erk and Ab Veerbeek, was completed in 1986. Queen Beatrix reopened the complex under the name Beurs-World Trade Center. Until 2014 it was managed and operated by Beurs Rotterdam N.V. At the end of 2014, Bouwinvest Dutch Institutional Office Fund became owner. He renamed the complex World Trade Center Rotterdam.

The World Trade Center Rotterdam (WTC Rotterdam) is an iconic office building located on Beursplein in the center of Rotterdam. It is an international business center with modern offices, meeting rooms, shops, restaurants, and an art gallery. Originally built as the Beursgebouw (stock exchange building), it is now a national monument that has been sustainably renovated and is an important symbol of Rotterdam's business community.
