The swan ponds are located in a park that is used by the Borsdorf as a public recreation park and social Treffpunk. The park area is approximately 1.5 hectares, on this there is a large lawn, a playground, a toboggan ramp and trails around the ponds and numerous benches. Since 2009, the "island festival" takes place here. The predominantly landscaped area with a romantic island pond and another pond complex was built in the mid-1890s on the initiative of the Leipzig industrialist Dr. med. Franz Vogt.
