Vandring

The 12,40m high dog made of flowers was created by Jeff Koons. The natives jokingly refer to Puppy as the real landmark of Bilbao and the Guggenheim Museum as an expensive kennel - but probably with a grain of truth.

Puppy, a twelve-meter-tall West Highland Terrier, is one of the most famous dogs in the world and is the background for many of the pictures that tourists take with them from Bilbao. Created by American artist Jeff Koons (York, Pennsylvania, 1955), it sits outside the Guggenheim Museum as if it were its guardian. It can be seen as a monument of sentimentalism but also as one of the main icons of modern Bilbao. The flowers that fill the stainless steel structure change with each season.
