"Loher Teiche" - laid out as fish ponds from 1898 - emerged from the railway construction around 1847. They belong to Lohe, a formerly independent estate district from 1907 until shortly after the end of the First World War. A touch of Scandinavia, the Loher ponds are now among the largest pond areas in Lower Saxony.
