The statue of Pieta, which is now located in front of the Church of St. John the Baptist, has stood on the site of today's plague column. Wenceslas. The new column was built in 1863 on the occasion of the thousandth anniversary of the arrival of the missionaries St. Cyril and Methodius to Moravia. Its author was the sculptor Josef Břenka. Around the statue of the Virgin Mary, there are statues of saints on the pedestal - Cyril, Methodius, Wenceslas and Florian.
