Small but fine campsite with super clean sanitary facilities, in a great environment.

I agree with my previous comment, but I would like to clarify the size of the campsite: it has recently undergone a significant expansion, which has significantly increased the number of available spaces.

That's right, the campsite is now quite large and absolutely fantastic. A new, large bathhouse, showers, toilets, washrooms, sinks, laundry rooms... everything is extremely spacious! And the best part: a heated swimming pool! Highly recommended. You can start many hiking and cycling tours from here. It's located directly on the Pustertal cycle path.

    Ofte stillede spørgsmål

What specific facilities are available for guests with dogs at Camping Ansitz Wildberg?

Camping Ansitz Wildberg is very pet-friendly, offering dedicated facilities for dogs. These include a dog shower for cleaning muddy paws, a walking path equipped with waste bins, and a designated dog exercise area with training equipment. This ensures that canine companions can enjoy their stay as much as their owners.

Are there specific recommendations for family-friendly activities beyond the campsite itself?

While the campsite offers a petting zoo, outdoor playground, and indoor playroom, the surrounding Puster Valley provides numerous family-friendly options. You can explore the Pustertal cycling path directly from the campsite, which is suitable for all ages. The nearby Kronplatz ski area offers activities beyond skiing, such as hiking trails and scenic gondola rides in warmer months. The historic center of Bruneck, just 3 km away, also provides cultural exploration opportunities.

How accessible is Camping Ansitz Wildberg via public transport, especially for reaching nearby attractions?

Public transport access is excellent. There's a bus stop within a seven-minute walk from the campsite. Additionally, a dedicated ski bus/train to the Kronplatz ski area is just three minutes away. Guests often receive a free Mobilcard, which allows for convenient use of these services to explore the region without a car.

What are the parking arrangements at Camping Ansitz Wildberg, particularly for larger vehicles or during peak season?

The campsite offers 90 motorhome pitches in addition to 154 touring pitches, indicating ample space for various vehicle sizes. While the intro doesn't specify peak season parking availability, user tips suggest the campsite has undergone significant expansion, increasing available spaces. However, as with any popular destination, arriving earlier in the day during peak times is generally advisable to secure preferred spots.

Are there any hidden trails or less-known hiking routes directly accessible from the campsite?

While the Pustertal cycling path is well-known and directly accessible, the area around St. Lorenzen and Bruneck is rich with numerous hiking trails. Many local paths branch off from the main routes, leading to quieter spots and scenic viewpoints in the Rieserferner mountains. Exploring local maps or asking the campsite staff for less-trafficked options can reveal some beautiful, more secluded trails.

What are the options for beginner hikers or those looking for easy circular walks from Camping Ansitz Wildberg?

The Puster Valley offers many gentle paths suitable for beginners. The Pustertal cycling path, while primarily for bikes, also provides flat, easy walking sections. For circular walks, you can find routes around St. Lorenzen village or along the Rienz river. These typically have minimal elevation gain and offer pleasant scenery, perfect for a relaxed stroll or a family outing.

What kind of weather conditions can visitors expect throughout the year at Camping Ansitz Wildberg?

Located at 800 meters in South Tyrol, the weather varies significantly by season. Summers (June-August) are generally warm and sunny, ideal for hiking and cycling, though afternoon thunderstorms can occur. Spring (April-May) and Autumn (September-October) offer milder temperatures and beautiful scenery, with cooler evenings. Winters (November-March) are cold with snow, perfect for winter sports, and the campsite is well-equipped for cold-weather stays.

Are there any wild swimming spots or natural bodies of water suitable for swimming near the campsite?

While the campsite boasts a heated swimming pool, natural wild swimming spots are less common directly adjacent to the site. The rivers in the Puster Valley, like the Rienz, are generally too cold and fast-flowing for swimming. For natural water experiences, you might find small mountain lakes higher up in the Dolomites, but these typically require a hike and are often very cold, even in summer.

Given the campsite's historical background, are there any historical walks or tours available nearby?

The campsite itself is built around a 13th-century 'Ansitz' (manor house), offering a sense of history. The nearby town of Bruneck, just 3 km away, has a well-preserved medieval center with a castle (Bruneck Castle) that can be explored. Many historical churches and traditional South Tyrolean villages are also within easy reach, providing opportunities for cultural and historical walks.

What types of rental accommodations are available at Camping Ansitz Wildberg, beyond standard pitches?

In addition to its 154 touring pitches and 90 motorhome pitches, Camping Ansitz Wildberg offers 10 rental accommodations. These include comfortable apartments and suites, some of which are equipped with luxurious amenities such as private infrared cabins and whirlpools. This provides a range of options for guests seeking more comfort or without their own camping equipment.

How does Camping Ansitz Wildberg cater to winter sports enthusiasts, especially those visiting Kronplatz?

The campsite is well-prepared for winter guests. It offers a dedicated ski room with heated ski boot dryers, ensuring your gear is ready for the slopes. Its proximity to the Kronplatz ski area is a major advantage, with a ski bus/train stop just three minutes away. Guests often receive a free Mobilcard, making travel to and from the ski area convenient and cost-effective.
