Huis 't Joppe is a country house just east of the hamlet of Joppe. The estate dates from about 1740 and has an entrance in Louis XIV style.

This country house is not very old compared to castles, because the first mention of an estate on this site dates from 1565. This estate was in the possession of Lubbert van Kuinre, who had the Nijelanden reclaimed near Gorssel around this time. A document from 1609 mentions Jobstede or Nieulant, the origin of the name Job in this context is unknown.

Geertruid van Markel, widow of Deventer mayor Arnold Bouwer, who died in 1736, had the house built in 1739 - 1742, possibly to a design by Jan Peterszen. An older gentleman's room may have been used. In 1853, the right side wing was extended on behalf of A. Brandts and the dome room was probably also added at the rear.

F.F.A. Baron van Hövell tot Westerflier en Weezenveld came into possession of the house in 1863. The alliance weapons in the facade belong to him and his wife R. Boreel de Mauregnault. The house was restored in 1965 - 1967.
