On the Schöneberg (today Kalvarienberg) there is a mysterious place. The artist Elisabeth Patuld called this place "a mythical place", which could be seen on an impressive oil painting at the "Southern 2011" in Sonthofen. It stands there the warrior memory chapel for the 113 fallen Sonthofer of the first world war. The same number of linden trees were planted in the chapel area more than 90 years ago. Deep under the building lie tunnels of the second world war. Many Sonthofer have survived the violent bombing in the protection of this plant.
