It is probably one of the oldest fountains in the city and has a depth of approximately 10.80 m and a diameter of approximately 2 m. With a water depth of approximately 7 m measured in 2004, this corresponds to a water capacity of approximately 22 m³.
Dr. Andreas Günter, once mayor of Kamenz, had the fountain built at his own expense in 1570 out of love for his hometown.
