Also known as Alquería Castle, the ruins are located on the top of a mountain in a strategic location as it overlooks the valley and the Mijares River. Built for defensive purposes, the castle played an important social, political and cultural role during Muslim domination.
Today only ruins remain, archaeological remains that have deteriorated over time.
