Bastion Sint-Anthonie was a bastion of the Fortifications around the city center of 's-Hertogenbosch. The bastion was built in 1618 on the advice of several engineers to Anthonie Sketch, the Governor of the city under Spanish rule.
The bastion is named after Anton van Bourgondie who had the Baseldonk monastery built on this site. The monastery was fortified into a blockhouse in 1535 and then continued under the name Sint-Anthoniuspoort. The city gate provided access to the city for the residents of Schijndel, Den Dungen and Sint-Michielsgestel.
