Vandring

The Caballo lighthouse is one of the most impressive places in Cantabria. It was built in 1863 on Mount Buciero and has incredible views. To get to the lighthouse you have to go down (and up) 763 steps. Don't be scared, it's very worth it!

Once you have made the descent down the steep stairs, the lighthouse plateau offers great views of the cliffs to the north and south and west along the coast towards Bilbao. Going down the stairs a little further, you can swing out on a rope and take a dip in the water beneath the cliffs.

The lighthouse is tiny and not worth seeing. The 763 steps themselves are the highlight, especially because of the views.
