Campotosto is a romantic, small mountain village with about 490 inhabitants just above the lake of the same name, about 25 km north of L´Aquila. Time seems to have stopped here. You have to go through here if you want to cycle around the lake. Absolutely worth seeing and remained original.

The municipality of Campotosto develops on the shores of the lake of the same name. This whole area has been hit by numerous earthquakes over the years. Campotosto is located in the territory of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park.
