This triumphal arch (renovated in 2020) in Corinthian style was built in honour of Emperor Augustus, but dates from after the 3rd century. In the Middle Ages it was part of the city wall, which was demolished in the 18th century. The 13.5m high Porte Mars has three arches decorated on the inside with bas-reliefs depicting Jupiter and Leda and Romulus and Remus.

The Porte de Mars is a city gate from Roman times and the last vestige of the four portae that marked the city entrances in antiquity. The complex probably dates back to the beginning of the 3rd century. Thanks to its integration into the medieval city fortifications and later into the bishop's castle from the 12th century, it was able to survive the centuries.
In the 19th century, the remains of the city gate were uncovered on the initiative of the architect Narcisse Brunette and the preserved western part was restored.

Vandring
The Arch of Honor dates from the 3rd century and is the oldest monument in the city. For a long time it was integrated into the medieval city wall as a city gate, only in the 19th century. The surrounding buildings were demolished to free him.
