Zechenhaus – The deep tunnel “Carl August”
Head south up the mountain. At the "Zechenhaus" you can see the heap and the broken mouth of the "Carl August" tunnel to the right of the path. It was traversed in 1784 by J. C. W: Voigt, one of Goethe's employees, and according to his statements, 195 Lachter (390 m) were then driven under the "burrows of the elderly" and served to drain a cobalt ridge.

The Prince's Stollen
The mouth of the Fürstenstollen is 50 m further south on the path. The tunnel was opened up a bit for the educational trail in order to demonstrate its function to visitors. Timbering, travel boards and water drainage were rebuilt. A handcart with a track nail is also intended to show the miner's work.

The Haspelschacht Plateau at the Erdschacht - shaft promotion
The path meanders along the slope to a plateau. Here we find four shafts. They were sunk at a distance of 20 - 30 m in order to avoid having to ventilate the sections. The copper slate seam was mined between the shafts at a depth of 5 –10 m. These stretches were only 60 cm high; the huts had to work lying down. The promotion was carried out with a hand reel, rope and bucket.
