The Huidobro copper mine is a mining site whose exploitation is documented from at least the 18th century to the 1960s. where it was closed, although there are sources that indicate that this mine has been in operation since the Neolithic, since it seems that the use of the attractive bluish-green rocks in which the metal is contained (azurite and malachite) were first used for fundamentally aesthetic, to decorate beads for ornaments and for the preparation of cosmetics, as happened in other Neolithic settlements close to this type of exploitation.

This copper mine has been exploited since the 18th century, and its activity ended in 1960. The metal is found in blue/green stones that are believed to have already been mined in the Neolithic for their aesthetic value.
