The Blasewitz Forest Park is a 23-hectare park in Blasewitz. It is one of several forest parks in Dresden (along with those in Kleinzschachwitz, Klotzsche and Weißen Hirsch) and the most famous of them.
The forest park was created in Blasewitz, which was later incorporated into Dresden, in 1869, at a time when almost all of the original forest plots were being built over due to the strong demand for land in the villa colonies elsewhere.

From 1869 onwards, the "Blasewitzer Tännicht" woodland was developed with paths under the direction of A. W. Königsheim and court gardener H. S. Neumann, becoming the centerpiece of the Blasewitz villa colony and a "forest park."
According to the wishes of the founders, the forest park is to be preserved "for all time."
The forest park is a protected monument, a protected landscape feature, and a drinking water protection zone (Zone II).
