Cykling

A superb gravel track runs alongside the Vaccarès lagoon. The track is in poor condition in places. I recommend having tires with a width greater than 40 millimeters for comfort. This approximately ten-kilometer section has no refreshment points. Remember to bring water with you.

Cykling

An interesting route - from Arles to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer and back.
Attention: the route is partly very bad with many holes, sand and gravel as a surface. That demands a lot from the material and also from the people.

Cykling

This alternative route from Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer to Arles is closed to motorized traffic – except for residents. This makes it attractive for cyclists who want to escape the busy road (which does have a marked shoulder).

I have ridden this route several times on a gravel bike at different times of the year. After heavy rain, it can be in very poor condition (March 22, 2024); however, I have also experienced it being very well-maintained and perfectly rideable.

The scenery is absolutely stunning and highly recommended.
