Very pretty, small pilgrimage church from the 12th century. It is home to Saint Sara, patron saint of Sinti and Roma. On the south side of the church you can climb for about 2.50 € on the church roof. The view is breathtaking! 360 ° unobstructed Camargue landscape and the sea.

Land of welcome, tradition and pilgrimage, the town of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer appears as an atypical place in the middle of the immensity of the landscapes of the surrounding Camargue. The steeple of the 12th century fortified church stands out from the rest of the town. This small seaside resort sees its streets fill with an impressive crowd every May 25, when nearly 10,000 gypsies converge from all over the world to venerate Saint Sara-la-Noire and baptize their children according to the Catholic ritual.
