Information sign for the Via Rheni, which ran in the 12th century as part of one of the most important north-south connections from the Rhineland via the Swabian Jura to Upper Swabia and from there over the Alpine passes to Italy.

The "Entringer Tor" was part of a game fence that protected the fields from game from the Schönbuch. This fence can be seen as a dotted line on Kieser's forest map from 1683. In front of the fence was a ditch, parts of which still exist today at the edge of the forest. Until 1848, only the nobility were allowed to hunt. Hunting and trapping by farmers was punished as poaching. Ultimately, the only option left for the farmers was to build a game fence.
