The Melkhuisje in the Stadspark of Aalst originally served as an inn or rest stop for walkers. The house served as a place where visitors to the park could rest, have a drink and a bite to eat. The name "Melkhuisje" is derived from the mandatory and unlimited sale of dairy products from 1916. The house therefore got the name "Melkhuisje" and has since been a beloved place for many Aalst residents and visitors to the park.

Place to rest and strengthen the inner man.
The original constructions in the park (a milk house, a card house, a garden shed and a bridge) still exude the typical atmosphere of yesteryear.
The milk house owes its name to the compulsory and unlimited sale of milk products from 1916. Today the milk house, with its cozy terrace, invites you for a drink and a snack and it offers a beautiful view over the park.

Vandring
In Aalst's City Park, you'll find the charming Melkhuisje (Milk House), once an inn and rest stop for hikers. From 1916 onward, milk was sold here, giving the building its name. Since then, it has become a popular spot where Aalst residents and visitors can enjoy a snack, a drink, and the peaceful green surroundings.
